For over 20 years HKL has been arranging the chartering of vessels ranging in size from small landing craft to 50,000 metric tonne Grain carriers. Our in-house expertise provides clients the capability to meet any chartering need and with over 100 charters to our name, clients can be assured that the key issues of safety, insurance and vessel suitability are professionally attended to. Supporting the chartering staff is an international network of agents providing our chartering centre, on demand information relating to port congestion and political stability of the region of operation.

Aviation, like shipping is a specialised area of the transport industry and to ensure our clients’ needs are met HKL has a dedicated in-house broker experienced in the field of aircraft chartering. Needs and expectations vary with the requirement, from short strip Antonov cargo freighters to corporate VIP jets to Bell 206 workhorses, HKL has direct access to both owners and brokers with ready access to such aircraft.

Provision of medical staff for in-country emergencies or Medivac operations is another valued service available through our company. During the East Timor crisis HKL coordinated the on-call provision of a medivac service in Darwin. Using a chartered Learjet 35 and rotating medical teams, critical medical evacuation services were made available. Whilst it’s not always essential to have a medivac team on standby, HKL can access service providers such as International SOS and Careflight who can provide medical support to staff located in remote areas of operations.

From the management of apartment properties in Port Moresby and Jakarta to the running of fully self sustainable compounds in remote Bougainville and Banda Aceh, Indonesia, we can provide a package to suit all needs. To compliment these services HKL has access to fully qualified and experienced personnel who will quantify and manage tailored solutions to international postings and remote project site facilities.
